How We Make It

From Concept to Completion: How We Build Every Sculpture

Our Process

From Concept to Completion

Every custom sculpture project at ShuShin follows a clear, structured process — from the first conversation to final delivery. Our goal is to reduce your risk, control quality at every stage, and make sure the finished piece matches exactly what you imagined.

01
Submit Your Project Requirements
Starting Point

Share your reference images, dimensions, installation site, material preferences, and budget range.

We review the project background first — then assess the right material, structural approach, segmentation method, and shipping plan based on your space and requirements.

02
Initial Consultation & Proposal
Proposal

Based on your requirements, we provide an initial recommendation covering material options, scale, surface finish, estimated budget range, production timeline, and shipping approach.

03
Design Development
Design

For custom projects, we assist with concept visuals, 2D drawings, proportion adjustment, and 3D modeling.

The goal at this stage is to help you see what the sculpture will look like — its overall form, proportions, and how it relates to the space — before any material is committed.

04
3D Model Approval
Confirmation

The 3D model is used to confirm sculpture proportions, structural feasibility, and detail accuracy.

Production only begins after client approval — significantly reducing the risk of costly revisions in later stages. We provide multi-angle views, dimension annotations, and detail close-ups.

05
Material & Surface Finish Confirmation
Material

We confirm the exact material and surface treatment based on the project environment and client aesthetic goals.

For example: stainless steel can be mirror-polished, brushed, or painted; bronze can be antique brown, verdigris, or dark patina; stone can be polished or honed; FRP supports custom automotive-grade paint and hand-painted finishes.

06
Structure & Installation Planning
Engineering

For large-scale sculptures, we pre-plan the base structure, anchor fixings, embedded plates, segmentation joints, and lifting points — all confirmed before production starts, not figured out on site.

This stage is especially critical for outdoor public art, hotel entrance pieces, and any project requiring crane installation.

07
Production
Manufacturing

Each material follows its own production process:

Stainless steel — plate cutting, forming, welding, seam treatment, polishing.

Bronze — clay model, mold making, lost-wax casting, assembly, patina coloring.

Stone — stone selection, rough blocking, hand carving, grinding, surface treatment.

FRP — 3D model, foam prototype, mold production, fiberglass layup, painting.

08
Production Progress Updates
Communication

Photos and videos are provided at key production milestones — so you can follow the project and confirm critical stages before we proceed further.

Where client approval is required before moving to the next stage, we pause and wait for your sign-off.

09
Final Quality Inspection
Quality Check

We inspect dimensions, surface finish, color consistency, structural joints, base connection points, and overall visual quality before any piece is packed.

A complete set of finished product photos and a 360° walkthrough video is provided for your final confirmation.

10
Packaging & Dispatch
Shipping

Packaging is custom-designed for each project based on material, dimensions, weight, surface type, and shipping method.

Mirror-polished surfaces receive individual protective film. Stone edges and carved details are reinforced. All segments are clearly numbered. We provide package dimensions, gross/net weights, and a container loading plan.

11
Installation Support
After Delivery

We provide assembly numbering, installation sequence diagrams, base connection details, bolt hole specifications, lifting guidelines, and remote installation guidance via video call.

For complex large-scale projects, on-site installation support by our team can be arranged separately. Please inquire for details.

Quote Form

Please let us know your project requirements, and our team will provide you with a customized quotation based on dimensions, material, design complexity, surface finish, and shipping destination.
